Thanks everyone for your efforts with this I love only having to use one programme for all my media needs. The developer of GBPVR has been hard at work updating the free, HTPC software GB-PVR and this weekend released the latest version of the software GBPVR 1.4.7Īs far as appearances go, things haven’t changed much with this new version, but as the developer says: Hopefully more skins will start supporting PVR shortly at the moment I think our only options are Confluence, PMIII & Transparency (I miss alaska and refocus). It looks like I can pause for about 1 1/2 hours but I haven't looked in to it that much. I had previously been having troubles pulling in all the channels as the other guides didn't have a schedule for them all.Īlso, I have found that I can pause live TV if I do it through the side menu bar in confluence where you get the small screen pop up. I think it is only useful if you live in UK, Italy or Australia.
I just thought I would point out this post to anyone who may not have seen it on the media portal forums It basically pulls the full sky EPG without having to mess about with xmltv or webepg. I have been using the PVR branch for a couple of months now mostly thanks to this thread. Not having to leave xbmc is the number 1 priority for me and this makes it possible. i'd be just as happy to have those features removed. Recording and time shifting aren't things that i use. The EPG didn't work for me at first, but that was because i didn't tick the right box in the tv server. if it could be faster, i wouldn't argue against it, but it's a minor price to pay to not have to leave xbmc. firewall, guest access, uac, multiple rdp, automatic updates and so on.basically, i configured win7 to 'behave' as OS X would.Ĭhanging channels takes many seconds, but this doesn't bother me since most of my viewing is through 'normal' xbmc libraries and free to air tv is supplemental. i also altered some of the annoying windows 7 restrictions that make things difficult. i rebuilt my OS right before i got started (5th time in 2 days) and removed media center right after installation. i can imagine being on the same device makes things a lot easier.
